Another day

Ran with the girls in the morning and got even more states than usual from the villagers. Did rounds with all of us when we got back and then Connor and I made Made bana pancakes eggs with every meal now.

Saw some patients. No surgery today or yesterday because... It's India. Biku says the surgeon might come tomorrow (Saturday), but, doikebah.

We all went to sit under the big sacred tree giant tree and hang out for a while, the girls miss rock climbing so they went up the tree a little.

The Internet was working for a couple minutes so we tried to plan a trip to Delhi and northern India later this month with Biku but then the power died again so we have nothing. While I'm in India, I'd like to be able to travel and see more of the country.

The girls put on sarees in the afternoon which was a couple hour process. They had their feet and hands painted and were fitted with lots of jewelry before going around the hospital and paying their respects to the doctors and elders.

Afterwards, we went to the school to play frisbee and cricket for a while and then went on a walk through the lentil fields. There was a big tree way out in the middle with a temple next to it where we sat and talked with some of the school kids. On our way back, we rode two a bicycle. The tires are always totally flat, the brakes don't work, the chain is super rusty and the bikes are always several sizes too big, but none of that stops the kids from being able to ride two or three to a bike from neighboring villages.

We learned to play hearts and played for a while before dinner and then went to sleep early for once. It's nice being able to share experiences with the nurses because we come from more similar backgrounds than anyone else I'd meet here.
